The Knicks Do It Again - Worst Case Scenario

If we were simply to go by Knicks history in order to read the tea leaves here, this would have to be the most likely outcome. Pure, unremitting agony and league-wide mockery.

The Knicks tank all season long only to win two pointless games in April ultimately causing them to fall as far back as 7th in the lottery based on the newly flattened odds that were implemented this year.

Without any obvious home runs outside the the Nike-nuking phenom Zion Williamson they pick a player like Rui Hachimura or Jarret Culver and simply hope for the best, but whatever that “best” is it is most definitely not Zion.

Then again who in the history humankind actually is?

July 1st rolls around and Kevin Durant immediately signs up with Golden State with his eyes on a fourpeat following yet another dominating season, this time in their brand new arena. Makes a lot of sense when you see the place…

Kyrie Irving goes ahead at publicly insults the Knicks by telling reporters how not two, not three, not four super max contracts could get him to sign with them and he flees to L.A. to help LeBron. The media loves this, especially Frank Isola.

Then comes the most brutal part.

With no KD or Kyrie coming and their jobs on the line, the front office becomes desperate and they max out Tobias Harris and Khris Middleton in order to prevent riots outside of the Garden. This of course sparks several riots not only outside the Garden but all throughout the city in in the greater New York area. Don’t get me wrong, Middleton and Harris are nice players but suffocating the cap with max deals for them would be an absolute nightmare and the most lolknicks thing this front office could possibly do and it really doesn’t seem too far outside the realm of possibility.
