4 Possible Scenarios for the 2020 New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are at a crossroads. It’s February of the 2018-2019 regular season and they’re gunning for the worst record in the entire league and perhaps the worst record in franchise history. On top of that, they’ve traded off what was thought to be their future franchise guy in Kristaps Porzingis and are left with a small collection of young players and cap room for a pair of max slots to try and strike gold with this summer’s star-studded free agent class.
A whole slew of incredible talents that most likely don’t want to come to New York at all.
There is no way of telling how it will all shake out come July but one way or another it’s going to be interesting. The Knicks may rise to almost unprecedented heights or fall back into the depths of basketball despair and it all depends on a handful of outcomes: where they land in the lottery, how they fair in free agency, and what they choose to do with their assets on the trade market. This article looks at four possible scenarios and ranks them from absolute nightmare to unfathomable dream
Remember: this is only a handful of potential outcomes. There is obviously room for wide variability and in all likelihood what does actually come to be for the New York Knicks this summer will not be explicitly outlined anywhere on this list. This article is intended to be more food for thought than anything else.
On to the possibilities…
